We’ve gone unprotected long enough and we’re getting loud people!

The summer heat has finally set in and it’s time to give some reprieve to ourselves and Honu. As you remember from a couple of weeks ago, we finally waxed the cockpit and the sugar scoop. Now it’s time for the foredeck. It was definitely easier to do, but boy are our backs done.

It’s funny, you would think by now we have built up all of those tiny muscles that keep you going as you are refitting and renovating. Not quite! Really, I think we have just exhausted them. I’m hoping that one day soon that Superman🦸‍♂️ feeling will kick in. But for now, we just keep plugging along and dream of the days to come sailing our Hunter. ⛵️

When we started this adventure, our main goal was how do we get out the cold and into 100% full time sunshine and heat 😎 We are both sun babies, can’t get enough of it…Crazy how things change. We had to get some sort of protective covering up over or cockpit or we just wouldn’t be going outside in the heat of the day 🥓 Not so conducive to the lifestyle we are planning on living.

The one major issue with that was to find someone that could create a cover/enclosure for us. It was next to impossible. With everything right now demand is high and supply is staggeringly low. So back to the school of YouTube 📺 to learn how to create and build a bimini cover. And what job would be complete without dealing with all the defective other things you need to tackle to get to the task at hand?
