Helios Rebuilt! New Anchor Chain & Windlass Put to the Test in Back-to-Back Mediterranean Storms
Helios is finally back together—new anchor chain, spare anchor, and a brand-new windlass motor—ready to venture once again into the Mediterranean. But the timing couldn’t be worse. With stormy weather forecast, we head back into the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer… just in time to face not one, but two powerful storms.
These systems bring less wind than our last nightmare in Villefranche, but they make up for it with hail, heavy rain, rolling thunder, and wild conditions that challenge every new piece of gear we’ve just installed.
Will Helios’ upgraded ground tackle hold?
Will the new windlass motor survive its first real test?
And will we make it safely through this latest round of Mediterranean chaos?
