We have now been in the Galapagos for 6 weeks and since we arrived, tourism is starting to come back. Initially there were no tours allowed by the government but a week after we arrived the regulations were changed, and tours slowly began to open. One of the last tours to reopen has been the run from San Cristobal to Espanola, the annual breeding site for the Waved Albatross, as well as a nesting ground for various Boobies. So, for our last tour of this wonderful place, we are heading out for a planned day sail from Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz to our original stop, Wreck Bay, San Cristobal. As we unfurl our front sail, we discover a serious issue with our genoa but deal with it in passage. We continue to San Cristobal and after dodging a sinking and unlit boat in the harbor, we take off on a guided tour of one of the Galapagos most spectacular islands. What a great way to end our tour of the Galapagos Islands.
