After 201 days in Nicaragua, thanks to the COVID outbreak, Gargoyle is now about ready to depart for the Galapagos Islands. The FedEx package containing the much-needed chart software as well as extra filters for the watermaker has been cleared by customs and it is now go-time. 48 hours to departure and there are still a few big items to check off the list. COVID tests for the crew, boat fumigation against pests and COVID, bottom scraping and finally securing a Zarpe from the Nicaragua Navy. But these may be the least challenging of all as we also face Liz’ birthday celebration with bubbles, rum and cerveza!
