Following our 5 day passage from Shelter Bay Panama to the Cayman Islands, the crew settles in for the prescribed 14 day quarantine. While we can order provisions online for delivery to the pier, all activity must be pre-cleared by the port security office. In addition, we need to move the boat based on the wind and swell forecasts as frequent weather fronts shift the winds to all points of the compass, making today’s calm moorage unbearable the next day. So, with one eye on the forecast, we wile away the days swimming, practicing our sunset “conching” and lounging in the amazing weather that is but one of the attractions of the Cayman Islands.
