We prepared and planned for this journey over many years but like almost everyone, we missed the risk of a global pandemic completely altering our world as we know it. However, we have vowed that rather than hide from the new reality, we are going to embrace it and move forward to discover how others are coping and adapting. To that end we have been reading blog posts, reaching out to other sailors in every part of the world and talking to the experts about what is the best possible path forward. This episode see’s us make a run into Managua to grab a shipment that will allow us to finish our repairs to the boat that we’re caused by the lightning strike back in June. Once Gargoyle is back in cruising condition, we then put our heads down to figure out where we go for the next 12 months. Chile, Argentina, French Polynesia, Tahiti, The Galapagos, Easter Island, Caribbean, Spain….so many choices but really not as many good options once you factor in Covid, cyclones, insurance and hurricanes.
