We finally make it to the other end of the Caledonian canal and once again set sail, after getting our sailing yacht back into the sea, on the west coast of Scotland.
Our plan was to head for the Irish Sea before sailing over to Ireland, when said plans are rudely interrupted by a powerful storm, which meant changing course and sailing for shelter, whilst waiting for it to blow over.
While we’re still learning to sail, our yacht delivery skipper and sailing instructor, Eddie, is always on hand, keeping a very reassuring and watchful eye over proceedings. As always, I love to plug a good company whenever I happen across one and if you’re keen to learn how to sail on your own boat, or just in need of a sailing boat delivery skipper, then you can get in touch with Eddy at https://goingyachting.com/. Feel free to let him know you found him through a YouTube channel, as he’s forever shaking his head, and rolling his eyes, whenever we whip the camera out to film, well, just about everything.
As always, huge props to all of the sailing Vlog channels that inspired us to take up this slightly bonkers sailing adventure. In no particular order:
The sailing video OG’s: Distant Shores: https://www.youtube.com/user/distantshores1
The bonkers and mega inspirational Delos gang: https://www.youtube.com/user/briantrautman
The beautiful and super talented couple, who gave us the idea that ‘regular folk’ can pull this type of lifestyle off: La Vagabonde https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZdQjaSoLjIzFnWsDQOv4ww
The very well polished and really fun to watch: Gone with the Wynns: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBo9TLJiZ5HI5CXFsCxOhmA
The guys we bought our boat from, who are now back in the Med: Sailing Creo https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChZJzhhHMLxnidJmeTya3YA
I’m sure there’s many more amazing sailing channels out there, so please let us know your favourite VLOGS, as we love watching them too!
