A lightning storm rolled over Charleston—and around 1 a.m., Easton snuck out to fish in his underwear and caught a shark! That was only the beginning of our Charleston adventure.
We explored the city, visited the aquarium, and braved a ghost and dungeon tour after walking more than 10 miles. Along the way, we tackled boat projects, started the boys’ online school year, enjoyed a date night, and got a taste of Charleston’s wild high tides. Then, just when we were ready to leave, our anchor retrieval line got tangled.

This is the REAL & RAW reality of living on a sailboat off-grid! Episodes come out every Saturday! Steve & Kami had a dream to buy a sailboat and travel the world when we retired. We spent 15 years working multiple jobs, living BELOW our means, saving every penny we could and investing in real-estate. Well the year of Covid hit and we thought, what the hell let's freaking go, kids and all! The first thing Steve said when he walked onto our boat "It smells like freedom!" We completed our first year of sailing, sold our sailboat Banana Pancakes, in hopes of purchasing a newer one. We didn't find the right boat so we headed back to Idaho. It's been 2 years since then and we are once again ready to go, this time for at least 5 years. We are currently boat shopping and plan on setting sail soon for Seson 2 of Banana Pancakes.
