Don't get rear-ended or pulled over! Packing bikes on a rear hitch rack is a staple for van life, but it completely blocks the factory brake lights on most vans.
Today, I’m adding a set of Curt 53201 LED auxiliary trailer lights directly to my 1up Super Duty bike rack. This gives us clear, unobstructed brake lights and turn signals right at the back of the vehicle where drivers behind us can actually see them.
What we cover in this video:
0:00 Intro
0:49 Unboxing the Curt 53201 light kit
2:11 Figuring out the best mounting spots on the 1up Super Duty
2:40 Testing the brake lights, turn signals, and running lights
3:22 No more extension!
Let me know in the comments how you handle visibility with your bike racks!
