Welcome to Out Chasing Stars! We're Admiral Amy and Captain David and we're currently exploring the world on s/v Starry Horizons, our Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 catamaran. We started out (nervously!) watching our boat get launched in La Rochelle, France in October of 2014. Since then we've completed an entire world circumnavigation, sailing over 37,000nm, and documented it all here on YouTube. We started making these videos to show our family and friends what life was like on a sailboat, and we're still amazed that other people have also started following along. On our passage from Tonga to Fiji we hooked a lot of marlin. Notice I didn’t say we CAUGHT a lot of marlin. Over 3 days, we had 5 hook ups and lost all of them, along with 3 lures. Professional deep sea fishermen we are not. Watch, learn from our mistakes and perhaps offer a bit of advice!
The passage itself was a good one, with fairly easy sailing. We got to sail wing on wing for a while, but had the most fun when it clocked around to a beam reach. But the best part of the passage? When some dolphins showed up to welcome us to Fiji.
This is also an extremely exciting video as it is the first one where Amy did most of the editing. Make sure you give it a thumbs up and comment how awesome it was so she will continue!
