Ep 100 | Las Vegas to Santa Monica, California, End of Route 66, California, RV Nutshell

We hit Vegas and stay in one of the oldest establishments there, Circus Circus Casino. The RV park is in a great location at the end of the ‘strip’.

We take a 10 kilometre saunter along the strip and check out the sights and sounds.

We then continue on the last leg of Route 66 heading for the Santa Monica Pier, which marks the end of this incredible journey.

Here’s some of the stuff we came across and places we stopped at along the way:

Cool Springs Gas Station, Oldham, the famous Roy’s Motel Cafe, Amboy, California, Amboy Crater, Ludlow Cafe, The Two 66 Sixes Company, Polly Gas Station, Riverside Cement Company, Mohawk Mini Mart, Mojave River Bridge, Rancho Jurupa Park, Madonna of the Trail, Upland, Wolfe’s Market Kitchen and Deli, La Paloma Mexican Restaurante, Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse, and the Azusa Foothill Drive-In Theater Marque.

That’s Route 66, done and dusted. We’ve got a spare week up our sleeve, before we need to head back to Australia, so we thought, instead of twiddling our thumbs, we might as well do something.

Magnus did a bit of sleuthing on the Internet and found another great vehicle rental deal, so…
