Alaska Boat Prep, S6E1, Later Than We Think, AOV
We start the new season in the Pacific Northwest with some much needed boat repairs. Our engine transmission damper plate was on its last legs and needed replacing. We knew this needed to be done when we were still in Mexico and were not looking forward to doing this work there as we would not have been able to source out all the parts needed for our 30 year old engine. What we didn't know was that we would also need to replace the remaining 3 engine mounts. We had broken one we thought crossing from Guaymas to San Juanico but didn't realize we had broke 3 and the 4th had just worn out due to age. The joys of owning an older boat, really AOV is now 34 years old. We bought her when she was only 4 years old and a "NEW" boat.
Later Than We Think
Well it is official, Mike and I are heading to Mexico to continue our sailing adventure that we started in 2008. Come this September 2017 we head out to the great blue yonder and point the boat south, first stop will be San Francisco after clearing US customs in Friday Harbour. Look for new videos of our up and coming new adventure. Its Later Than We Think. Angelique of Vancouver came back aboard Dockwise Transport in 2009 and we have been dreaming of returning to the Sea of Cortez and continue our adventure to Panama and the Caribbean
