We Sailed to Our DREAM DESTINATION!⛵️🏝️

This week, we spent some quality time with the locals learning how to harvest giant clams, weave hats out of palm fronds, dance, and play the ukulele. 🏝️ We hosted friends for dinner, watched a fantastic sunset, and then made the best of a windy morning by running the watermaker and working on a new monitoring screen. 💻 The goal is to know when something is wrong with our watermaker and/or our generator before an alarm sounds or the systems shut down completely. We are always on a quest to perfect our preventative maintenance skills! That afternoon, we spotted four manta rays swimming right next to our boat. Despite the high winds, we couldn’t resist the urge to get in and swim with them.🤿 We had an incredible experience watching these gentle giants twirl through the water so close to us! 😍

We built the perfect anchor alarm system🚨 Here is how we use it

When we arrived at the anchorage, Holly handled the windlass while I talked through how we set the anchor. We’ve also got the anchor alarm running on a split screen, so you can see it working in real time, including when the alarms go off. The anchor watch is a custom Home Assistant setup that take...

Our worst nightmare happened and we weren’t as prepared as we thought.

Between the two of us, we’ve been sailing for a long time. We know the theory. We know where every piece of distress equipment on this boat is. We don’t skimp on insurance policies.
