⛵️ A Challenging Finish to Our 1,000-Mile Delivery | Beneteau 423 Pt. 2 ⛵️
In Part 1, we left Saoirse on the hard in Guatemala, dropped the mooring ball in Roatan,
and began sailing our friends’ Beneteau 423, T’kila, nearly 1,000 nautical miles across the
Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico to Kemah, Texas. We spent the first couple of days
learning how she moves, getting a feel for the boat, and comparing her to our own,
Saoirse, a Pearson 35.
Now the journey continues — and this leg throws a lot more our way.
As we approach the Texas coast, the wind picks up, the seas turn sloppy, and we find
ourselves navigating one of the busiest shipping ports in the U.S. — at night.
And just when we think we’ve made it… the windlass gives out. Because of course it
does. 😅
