This is simply an experiment in slow-motion video editing. A few minutes recorded on our crossing from Ao Chalong to Koh Lanta in Thailand. We hope to include more slo-mo footage in our video diary so this was just a bit of fun. Realise the opening shot should have been slowed down using Flex as it&...
I look back at this video and think that I was overacting a little bit but, at the time I was genuinely concerned for the safety of the boat. I'd just moved on board and wasn't familiar with any of the systems or the state of the mooring rope. The bad weather (it never looks as bad on vide...
The crew of Starry Horizons make a quick return to the States in order to host a bachelor party and cheer on family sailing in the 2015 Shellback National Championships. We sailed from Portland up to Brooklin, dodging a seemingly infinite number of lobster pots along the way, and then to Georgetown...
In this short episode my kids help me make the boat a little more festive with putting up the Christmas Lights!

It seems as if American has been busy catching our dinner, a tasty-looking grouper. There are many ways to kill a fish, from cutting its gills, to cutting off its head. Some yachties swear by pouring alcohol into its gills but we think this is a waste of rum. The best way to humanely kill a large fi...
In this episode I demonstrate how I pack the Spinnaker after using it. Although I am sure there a many methods to pack the Spinnaker, this method works well for the space I have in my cabin.

Episode 2 'The Adventure Begins'
This week, having bought a boat, I go on a ship journey, drive though Spain and Portugal, nearly get arrested and find a vintage ford parked inside a hotel! Please share.
Well to be honest, not much sailing happened this year. The initial 'shakedown' cruise literally shook everything down - which all needed fixing. Still, might as well break everything at once. However, things are looking good for 2016. Fingers crossed.
