Shakedown Sail Before Cruising the Ionian Sea | Leaving Our Winter Marina Behind
Ep. 164 ~ Join us as we leave our winter marina and complete our shakedown sail before cruising the stunning Ionian Sea! After spending some of the winter living aboard our catamaran in Preveza, Greece, we’re finally back on the water and getting our boat ready for the Mediterranean sailing season.
We moved from our winter berth to the Preveza town quay, where we tackled some essential sailboat maintenance, including cleaning our heavily fouled props. With too much marine growth affecting our steering, it was a crucial task before sailing again. We also tested our new anchor bridle near the town quay before setting off on a beautiful shakedown cruise to Vonitsa, a charming town tucked away in the Ambracian Gulf.
This episode is all about getting back into the rhythm of full-time cruising, preparing for weeks of sailing the Med, and making final checks before heading toward Lefkada for our solar arch and panel installation and eventual haul-out for more catamaran upgrades and repairs.
