Ep. 177 ~ Join us as we continue our full-time liveaboard sailing journey through the stunning Adriatic Sea in Sailing Croatia | Šipan to Split: Anchor Troubles, Dolphins & 12 Hours Under Sail. In this episode, we take our catamaran from the quiet beauty of Otok Šipan to Uvala Spilice, then onward to the historic islands of Korčula, Hvar, and Šolta, before completing our passage into the vibrant city of Split, Croatia.
Life on a sailboat is never dull. Our buddy boat runs into serious anchor problems near Korčula when they hook a massive underwater cable, and we step in to help. Along the way, we’re treated to magical dolphin sightings near Šipan. After leaving the beautiful island of Korčula, we set out on a challenging 12-hour passage past the famous island of Hvar and onward to Šolta, finally dropping anchor at 10 pm under the stars. Night anchoring after a long day of sailing always brings its own challenges, but it’s all part of life aboard a sailboat.
The following morning, we weigh anchor and make the short hop from Šolta into the bustling port city of Split. Along the way, our chain counter suddenly stops working, giving us another boat project to add to the endless list of sailboat repairs and upgrades that come with the liveaboard lifestyle.
We’re full-time sailors, living aboard our catamaran while exploring the Mediterranean. From sailing in Croatia, to discovering ancient civilizations, to constant boat projects, this channel is for anyone dreaming of the liveaboard lifestyle, preparing for retirement adventures, or simply curious about Mediterranean sailing. Come aboard, subscribe, and join our island-hopping adventures in Croatia.
