Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s something that can happen to any sailor. This is the story of Jurgen, German solo sailor who left his boat at anchor for a couple of hours only to come back and find his boat had disappeared. A few moments later he received a call and was told his boat was beached. It’s a story that we all fear. Jurgen was ready to cross the Atlantic to meet his wife in Jamaica. The boat was provisioned and ready to sail. Then disaster struck. All Jurgen could say was, “I lost my Boat”.
