Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.

About 6000 cruisers cross the Atlantic Ocean each year. And many of them stop in Cape Verde before the long passage across the ocean. For centuries ships have stopped in Mindelo Bay to stock on supplies, fuel and goods. And today it’s also where ARC sailors come and go. The big difference, they are all leisure sailors. Marina Mindelo hosts these sailors for a few days and they’re off again. And soon we will be off again too. Just a few more repairs done and an update and glimpse at Natacha.
