Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. We are leaving for Cabo Verde but not before taking care of a few things on El Hierro Island. When cleaning the hull a turtle friend says hello while munching on a sardine. We go on a lava hike and I test out a new cool product. Go for some serious fishing and a last trek in the cloud forest. And then we take off to Cabo Verde.
