An older dude who feels 30 sails the world on a small yacht and tells his live large adventures. Follow him from the beginning when he looks for a sailboat and buys it. Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. We make land fall on La Palma island after our overnight sail and 3 of the crew leave Galopin. Which leaves me and Natacha to discover more of the island. While visiting the town of Los Llanos we stumble into a bar full of Columbians watching the World Cup where we end up dancing and drinking the afternoon away. And then we tackle a long hike to Roque de Los Muchachos observatory at over 2000 meters where the views are absolutely stunning.

Sailing up the Gambian at night is rough. Fishermen blind you with their lazer pointers. There are nets abound and even the coast guard came at me but backed off.
