Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.

I’ve got to get from Santa Cruz de La Palma to San Miguel de Tenerife and it’s about a 100 nautical miles. I have a good weather forecast of 15kts coming from the north. As usual in the Canaries the real weather conditions are stronger. The wind and sea are punishing as there begins to be some damage to the boat. But the feeling is ecstatic and terrifying at the same time. All part of the journey of becoming a tried and tested world sailor.
