Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. I’m stuck at Marina La Gomera waiting for a part for my auto-pilot. On my pontoon there are several sport fishing boats. They all seem busy coming in and out daily. Well, it turns out to be Bluefin Tuna fishing season and a couple of the guys offer to take me out fishing. While out on the ocean, we also get a pod of Killer Whales swimming by. It was amazing!
