Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.

Since I’ve departed on my Winded Voyage, I’ve become reacquainted with sayings like “Getting Even Keeled” in the context they originated. In this case getting even keeled really means getting a new balanced keel for Galopin. It hasn’t been easy, but we’re getting there. Daniel, the one that looks like Robert De Niro is back. I plunge deep into my keel pit with a vengeance.
Then good old Bix invites us to his home for Christmas. You’ll see how a typical modern French family celebrates the holy night. And you’ll understand how Bix is trying to find his balance after nearly keeling over. This is in a way the Winded Voyage Christmas special and it keels.
