Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.

We set off to sail to Senegal. But we have to turn back because of weather and the real possibility of serious engine failure. This turned out to be quite an adventure which I describe in colorful details. We averted disaster and returned to square one, Tarrafal. The place is so nice we had to come back. Which turned out for the better and for the worse. It seemed like destiny had our calling. All part of a happy life, sailing and living free in Cabo Verde Africa
