Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. We get kidnapped by locals and are taken hostage by the most charming villagers. From the secluded bay, we attempt to walk to the village. It’s supposed to be an hour’s walk. For us it was a lot more because we did not know the way, and the girls get lost. We also hang out with a modern adventure family lead by The Captain whom live on two boats in their hidden cove. In the end the girls get rescue and find their way back to the village where I’m waiting hosted by the most wonderful family. This is a story of genuinely good people with huge heart, which touch my heart profoundly.
