Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.

We go from the relative calm of of the city of Mindelo where I take care of my friend’s boat and we check up on Wendy’s little bar. Then we take on the ocean canal between the islands of Sao Vicente and Santa Antao. The ocean there is horribly mean, but we forge on so we can get to the Sao Jao festival. It’s an adventure to go from the city to the treacherous ocean. Sailing Galopin in Cabo Verde Africa.
