On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. I’m getting close to my end destination. But the closer we get, the slower I seem to go. The engine wont stay running for more that an hour or so. As well, a strong current is pushing me in the wrong direction. I slowly made my way between squalls which would generate some wind and turning on the engine. And once close to shore, I made sure to come in at high tide, because the boat had no depth gauge. There were tides up to 5 meters coming into the mouth of the river where I was supposed to dock.
