Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.

Yes, I got mugged but not robbed. Me and two friends of mine were ambushed in the street. A rare event in Mindelo. But since Covid, people seemed to have gotten more desperate. Less tourist, less work. It’s hard for the locals, but thats no excuse. And things get very dirty deep inside my boat. Some dirty diesel that I must remove from my fuel tank. Sailing Galopin in Cabo Verde Africa.
