I'm solo sailing the waters of the Cape Verde Archipilago form the island of Sal to the island of Sao Vicente. About 120nm and I'm about 40nm into the passage when I'm hearing a nasty noise. It's my autopilot and it's about to give up on me just before nightfall. I'm stuck in the middle of the ocean middle of the night with no autopilot. Can I fix it? Or must I hand steer all night into Mindelo Bay the next day.

On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin.
