Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.

We say “Au revoir” to all the beautiful people I met in Dakar. The dilema for us sailors. But “Au revoir” means “See you”. We head out in the afternoon to beat the fishermen who lay out their nets in the late afternoon. But they were there already. Then the control unit for the autopilot shite the bed. At one point it tacked the boat into huge waves and didn’t release. I heard the belt growling under the stress of the motor, and that was that. The belt didn’t hold anymore. From now on, it would be Scotsman Thorfinn, me and bungee cords that would keep Galopin on course.
