Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.

I had sailed across the Atlantic Ocean solo and was now in French Guyana. But I had to get back home to my boat in Cabo Verde. I was in the capital city Cayenne and hard a hard time getting a shave. As well as a simple cafe au lait and a French croissant, where I thought I’d find French food easily. But no. Everything seemed closed and the only food I found was Chinese. I just wanted to get on my plane and fly back. There was one problem, when I came into the country I had not formally entered through immigration. So would I be able to board my plane?
