Sometimes cruising isn’t turquoise water and postcard sunsets.

The sail to Mayaguana tested us. A long, exhausting passage, followed by an even longer wait in a very rolly anchorage—with little sleep and plenty of second-guessing. These are the moments no one really talks about… the ones where you wonder why you chose life on a sailboat.

But as always, the hard days come with unexpected rewards. We met locals, made new friends and enjoyed some seriously good Bahamian food. And slowly, the stress faded—replaced by the reminder that this lifestyle is about more than perfect conditions.

This episode is the real side of sailing life—the highs, the lows, and everything in between like a birthday for a 2 year old. Filmed June 2025.
