We rent a car and head inland to explore a side of the Dominican Republic most cruisers never see.
After hiking through cow pastures, hopping fences, and second-guessing every turn, we finally find Balneario La Batea — a hidden jungle waterfall that feels like our own private swimming hole.
Back at the boat it’s the usual projects and fixes, but cruising life isn’t just work. We spend time with friends and the local expat community at Captain's Table, then set off on one more hike to a blow hole and mountain overlook…
…and somehow end the day getting chased by bees. 🐝
