Wildly Intrepid Sailing Finds Affordable Way to Stay in New York City
The Wildly Intrepid Sailing family continues their journey as they explore the Hudson River and find a $40 per night solution for mooring in New York City. They discovered Dickman’s Marina, a part of the park that offers a cheaper alternative to other options.
In this video episode, we witness Alex, Kai, Ky, Coral, and their pet dogs taking an early morning stroll before setting off on their day. Despite chilly temperatures around 6° Celsius, they make sure to bundle up with all the necessary gear. This walk leads them to discover a nearby playground where Coral, who has been on a waitlist, finally gets to experience her first-ever swing.
Engine Pump Mishap
The day continues with an unexpected twist when the Wildy Intrepid family notices their engine compartment pump leaking water. With Alex’s quick-thinking intervention, he secures the hose clamps properly and avoids any major issues while keeping everyone on high alert for such mishaps in the future.
New York City Excitement
After addressing the situation, they venture into NYC with their mooring ball at an affordable $40 per night rate. Their main goals include experiencing a slice of pizza and capturing a mesmerizing sunrise on camera. While in New York City, they plan to visit various locations, including around the Bronx Zoo.
Traffic and Current Concerns
Alex and the family acknowledge that some individuals choose to drop anchor near NYC; however, they prefer using a mooring ball. This decision is influenced by concerns over currents and traffic on the water, thus prioritizing safety.
An Inexpensive Alternative to Stay in New York City
At Dickman’s Marina, it costs approximately $40 for the Wildly Intrepid family to keep their boat moored overnight while exploring New York City. By comparison, other marinas and mooring locations can prove more expensive. This budget-friendly option allows them to continue enjoying their adventurous journey around New York City without overspending.
The Journey Continues
As Wildy Intrepid family continues their expedition across the Hudson River, they utilize communication devices and pack essentials like diapers, changing pad, clothes, and toys for the kids. They share their enthusiasm and excitement for what comes next in their extraordinary journey through New York City.
We cruise down the Fjord like part of the Hudson River. The sights are spectacular with a huge fort. Little stop in Ossining and then we're off to New York City. Docks are very expensive here but you still can enjoy Manhattan for only $40 per night. Filmed October 2023.
