Welcome to Untie The Lines! my name is Nike, I bought an aluminum 37 foot sailboat in Panama in 2013 that I named KARL. I spent a good year refitting it, mostly by myself and with the help of awesome friends, and then (mostly) solo sailed my sailboat around the western Caribbean.
In 2016, I crossed the Panama Canal, had a major engine break down, a near sinking experience and a serious foot injury which got me stuck along the Pacific coast of Central and South America.
In this Episode, I take my sailboat Karl out for a beautiful solo sail. I just painted some fresh Total Boat antifouling on his hull and he is performing super well in the light winds that we had.
It’s only a short 13nm long day sail, but it feels good to shake out the canvas again. Also, the scenery is just amazingly beautiful! But see for yourself.
