On this episode of WE|Sail, we finally check in to Belize. Our much anticipated arrival into the beautiful Central American Caribbean country nearly took us all day to check in, running around the entire island of Ambergris Caye of San Pedro into order to be sorted and legal!
Once checked in we were again on the run heading south to spend a couple of weeks exploring the second largest barrier reef in the world before settling down in the Rio Dulce for the following three months.
We sailed in shallow waters, around 1 foot below our keel for the majority of our time in Belize to a popular laid back Caribbean island called Caye Caulker where we ended up taking some backpackers along with us to Guatemala.
Our new friends and crew, Rosalie and Sylvio joined us for the weeks ahead island hoping down the chain of islands, teaching them how to sail, sling lobster and give them a taste of the live aboard lifestyle. In turn, they showed us a few things when it came to diving in Turneff Atoll and were great crew!
Join us as WE explore the caves of Belize, swim with dolphins and make our way to Guatemala with new friends in tow.
