Yanmar YSE12 Running in after complete rebuild

This YSE12 was losing about 1/2 litre of engine oil per hour. It seized just off Oxwich Point and wouldn’t restart. Whole heap of trouble with the tide about to turn and darkness coming in. I have done a complete (new piston, rings, wet liner, valves etc plus reconditioned the injector pump and injector) re-build. This is at 16 hours running on the pontoon. It has started first time every time. Given the state of the piston and bore (top ring snapped in two and a huge gap between piston an bore) I am surprised it ran at all previously. It feels and sounds a lot better now.

Boring video unless you are building a YSE12 yourself (Or YSE8), but info on these old beasts is difficult to get hold of.

Next stage is sea trials after some modifications I talk about at the end.
