Upgrading Yanmar 4JH45 Marine Engines with STEINBAUER PowerModules | What Sets the Tuning Tech Apart

Something you may not know is that many engines in a series, for example the Yanmar 4JH45 and Yanmar 4JH57, are actually the same block with different tuning maps. With the right technology it's possible to tune some of these engines to gain performance with no negative impact on the motor.

While in Michigan last year Telicia sat down with Sherie, the site manager for STEINBAUER USA, to discuss what sets the STEINBAUER PowerModules apart from other tuning technologies, how the tuning technology follows the same principals as OEM manufacturer and the warranty implications of installing a module on a marine diesel engine,especially for US consumers. They also briefly cover the reliability of STEINBAUER products and the warranty support offered by the company.

Currently the modules are available for two engines;

• Yanmar 4JH45 engine (45 HP to 60HP) - https://www.steinbauer.us/product-page/yanmar-4jh45

• Volvo Penta D3 (110 HP to 145 HP) - https://www.steinbauer.us/product-page/volve-penta-d3-marine

If you have a different type of marine engine that you'd like a STEINBAUER PowerModule for, feel free to reach out as there may be something that has been developed.

⚡While we were not paid for this video, we do work with STEINBAUER to promote these modules for sale as we think they are an excellent product with a sound technical foundation and a vast range of benefits for live aboard cruisers. We paid for the modules installed on our Leopard 45 catamaran and are extremely happy with the outcome.

STEINBAUER is an Austrian company founded by Hebert, a friend and fellow Leopard 45 catamaran owner. In the late 1990's he identified a new opportunity for improving diesel engine tuning, and began developing an intelligent plug and play module centered around fuel injection. Today, STEINBAUER PowerModules are used within the automotive, construction, agricultural, passenger vehicle and marine industries, and are available in over 30 countries around the globe.
