If you could continue to cruise a particular destination "out of season", when the vast majority of seasonal sailors have 'gone with the wind', would you?
We have - and that is exactly what the videos in our La Niña Summer Sailing Series have been about. In this final episode of that series, we do a comprehensive wrap-up of the risks vs rewards.
In our case, the cruising ground we're covering is Australia's North Queensland Coast, where the off-season is summer, the weather becomes more monsoonal, and cyclones (along with associated insurance considerations) enter the mix.
It's for these reasons and more, that most cruisers sail south for the summer, but nowadays this can mean heading into weather that's worse.
Our summation of the alternative is by no means a mud map for anyone else to follow. It's simply the real-life account of what we experienced, both good and bad.
Enjoy! 🍿🎦
