Cruising in Coral | Top 10 Tips for Navigating the Bommies of the Great Barrier Reef

After being blown away (not literally for once đŸ€Ș) by our encounters at Michaelmas Cay (Link to that video is here: đŸ‘‰đŸ» https://youtu.be/1rTX2_VYq_U ), we set off to explore more of the Great Barrier Reef in the Cairns region of Far North Queensland.

What happened next turned out to be a classic demonstration of the do’s – and don’ts – of navigating through a minefield of ‘Bommies’, which is the Australian term for outcrops of coral reef.

The resulting video is our Top 10 Tips for keeping your keel clear of coral heads, including where we could improve, as well as the bits we get right.

If we’ve missed any pearls of wisdom, be sure to leave us a comment, and let us know if our experience rings true for you.

Thanks for watching đŸ™đŸ»
