I go for broke becouse only the best is good enough for my boat. Bronze keels are antifouling because they are 90 % cupper. Bronze is expensive but it is also strong and resiliant. It feels good to know that will Exlex be bumping on the ground with a ebbing tide in wild Falkland islands or Patagonia I will not have to worry about my antifouling. I can run up a creak and wait out bad weather. Bronze is not as heavy as lead but it is more heavy than cast iron and it is more resiliant than both of those metals.
It is also very corrosion resistant. It is also compatibel with a copper coat bottom paint.
In Lammhults Gjuteri under Mikaels direction I have found competent craftsmen.
It have been a long drive from Västervik in a borrowed car but well worth it.
