Peter is back. Here he is helping me to demonstrate how strong my darling was.
Was because she is no more.
I have decided that the bulkhead hatches take up to much space.
A video from 22 January show me getting into the fore compartment with a Center board mock up. In fact it was only, I realised later part of the centerboard trunk. The centerboard trunk did take up much more space with the board down.
Also in the back the hatches interfered with the Hawse tail and its winch.
It is a small boat and I cannot have all that is desirable.
The hatches would have been good to have.
The are now replaced with a device similar to a kajak spray deck. With a spray deck a esquimoe roll can be performed without to much water getting into the kayak.
This piece of canvas takes up no space that was going to be used for other purposes and the weight is minimal.
A lot of good ideas have been killed like the moving ballast, the center board and now the bulkhead hatches. Other changes like using a modified Ljungström rig instead of balanced lugsails have been made and I am not done with the boat as now.
No one knows how it will end. One thing though is shore the boat gets better and better.
