This is a mock up video of the placement of the mock up drum winch for the hawse pipe tail.
It needs improvement. I got an idea but I realise that it is best to make a functional drum winch with the right dimensions.
I was sitting in a good position but the muddy anchor rode was passing over me dripping water and mud.
Of course it would be good to have 0.6 more meters of lenght in the cockpit but I am a stoic so no complaints.
A boat is a complex with many properties that must be balanced. If I had given her more lenght there would be less space in my workshop and to get her out of the building would need a lot of dissensembling in warehouse outside me that would prevent me from bringing her back to work on her after sea trials.
This balance between different properties is complex but with time things usually turn out OK or things have to be modified.
