Tonight the plans for killing once more a darling was drawn up.
Calculations were made and finally I decided to go ahead.
The victim was the side by side sails.
They will be replaced by in line masts. The main motiv was to be able to better change the center of effort of the sail area.
The new sail plan spreads the sails more fore and aft. By taking down the fore sail. The center of effort mowes aft and the boat gets weather healm.
By taking down the aft sail the center of effort mowes forward giving the boat lee helm.
Before with the bow centerboard I had the possibility to afjust the lateral area. With the twin fixed keels I do not any longer have that option.
The fore masts will not now be outside the boat and do not have to be moved inside the boat in port a simplification.
