I tried my new hatch Idea. It did not work. Reason it will build to much height. Also hinges on each side with removable pins wont work either. For two reasons. One the center of the pins have to be outside the gasket. The gasket is 30 mm the there is the holder of the gasket 20 mm on each side maybee so about 70 mm. Those 70 mm will be outside the pin and prevent turning the hatch.
There is also a problem with hinges in that it limits the movement of the hatch to dig into the gasket.
The problem will be in the back of my mind. A solution will be there when I get to it in full scale.
Meanwhile I work on the pattern for the bronze rudder. Step by step I glue her up. A third gluing will be done tomorrow.
No problem is difficult if you divide it into small steps.
