The bow centerboard is back in a smaller version.
I had killed her but I have made three ocean passages with bow centerboars, 1989, 2018, 2020 and 2021 in Amfibie – Bris, Exlex of 1.08 beam and Exlex of 2.22 meter beam.
The bow centerboard is a tool I have come to like. In contrary strong wind I with her help can give the boat a lot of weather healm and in good comfort slowly forereach into the strong wind gaining ground.
A good desirable property of a small boat.
I had made a start but the centerboard took up to much space. I did twin keels instead, a good thing as they besides lateral area increases stability and keep the boat above the ground.
The first idea was a daggerboard, a simple device that takes up little space, but the disadvantage is that they do not fold up when hitting things and the are not so easy to control.
Now with the twin keels I do not need so much lateral area in the centerboard I will make an mockup when I turn the boat back on even keel.
Hopefully the extra 20 cm I have given myself will be ample.
