11 May 2024 Working on the strongback

Hello friends! This is Sven Yrvind and now the molds for the strongback are coming up there – five of them cut out and I’m starting to put them together like this.

Spaces here is for horizontal and this one is for vertical, and on the other side there’s nothing now but it’s going to come so important thing is to make it strong. You know because when you bend and pivot around it one swing here, one swing there, and all the clamps, it’s going to be another option in the end.

Molds Assembly Overview

The assembly process involves various parts for different purposes such as horizontal and vertical spaces. Sven emphasizes the need for a strong structure that allows flexibility and adjustment when bending and pivoting.

Horizontal Molds

The horizontal molds, as described, are essential for creating even support across the length of the strongback. These parts play a crucial role in maintaining structural integrity and uniformity throughout the construction process.

Vertical Molds

The vertical molds are vital for height adjustments, providing additional strength and stability to the strongback. These components allow for precise positioning of tools and materials during boat building.

Completing the Structure

Sven carefully plans the arrangement of each mold to ensure that it provides maximum support. He also notes the upcoming additions, like clamps, which enhance overall efficiency and precision in boat construction.

Conclusion

In this episode, we’ve seen how Sven Yrvind constructs his strongback using specific molds designed for various purposes. This structure is crucial to the boat-building process as it ensures even support, precise adjustments, and overall structural integrity. Keep an eye out for future episodes where we will delve deeper into the assembly of additional components and how they contribute to the final outcome.
