Playing with your Hookah! We clean and inspect the boats using the Hokah we built a couple of years ago.

Welcome to our channel.
We are now in season 7
In 2018 we left the UK to sail around the world slowly. After Brexit, a "Pandemic" and major heart surgery we are still sailing, documenting our travels and showing you what we have learned so far.
We are hoping to complete our journey, and travel right around the world even if we have had a few setbacks along the way. We will continue at our own pace and that may be fast or slow. We want to be sure not to miss anything and have stories to tell our grandchildren when we are old and grey.
Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.

We do have a second channel YOUR DRONE TV It is a mix of music from classical to blues, from Opera to Punk all with stunning drone footage.

In the latest episode of SV Impavidus, the team embarks on an exciting journey, moving away from the stunning island of Jilla and heading to another picturesque destination for a thrilling sail. While on this adventure, they discover that the anchoring area has been relocated but remains unannounced to most, except them. They promptly set anchor in the designated spot using their trusty chart plotter and anchor app, confirming it was not dragging within its swing area.

The Peaceful Tain Island

After completing all essential checks in Fetier Marina, including refueling, rewatering, and pumping out, they set off towards their next favorite spot – Tain Island. Here, they encountered a gentle breeze with 10 to 12 knots of wind on the beam, perfect for charging up all the batteries while maintaining an enjoyable sail.

Exploring Tain Island

The crew relished in the serene surroundings of Tain Island and spent their time snorkeling and enjoying various activities on their beloved hooker. During this exploration, they inspected the boat’s bottom thoroughly by cleaning the prop using 33 feet of hose with a demand valve regulator capable of reaching up to 10 bar depths.

Caring for Boat Bottoms

Skipper Joe carefully cleaned the prop shaft and examined the specialized silicone-based anti-foul on it, as well as their underwater running gear. The use of a green scratchy revealed any issues that needed addressing. Although water conditions seemed different from previous years with reduced fish life and coral presence, they maintained their usual inspection routine to keep the vessel in peak performance.

A Quick Departure

The upcoming episode promises excitement as SV Impavidus finds themselves sailing hastily towards S Ireland due to unexpected circumstances. They emphasize the importance of being prepared and maintaining one’s vessel even when unexpected situations arise.
