A surprise visit to The Netherlands - I wrote a song
This is the song I wrote for Mark's surprise party at work and me secretly flying back to the Netherlands.
Mark's only wish for his 20-year work anniversary… was to be with me. But I've been solo sailing around the world for over 1,000 days. So his colleagues secretly flew me home as a surprise. No one knew — not even our son Sem.
On the evening of his party, they played this song… and we were reunited.
It felt like a real-life episode of 'All You Need Is Love' — with happy tears everywhere.
I feel so blessed. Thank you, Xebia, for making this magic possible. ❤️

A Wave Came Through My Hatch While I Was Sleeping | Sailing Solo on the Indian Ocean – Ep. 285
A giant squall. Two rainbows. Breaking waves. 34 knots of wind. And one wave coming straight through the hatch while I’m sleeping. As the weather deteriorates, I’m changing headsails, switching to the storm jib and reefing the mainsail while Loveworkx is being thrown sideways by the waves. There ...
